It's official! 

I have a mailing list and a newsletter about to go out every month. A mailing list and developing an editing team were my two biggest goals for 2024 and I've already gotten started on them before the year even begins. 

Inside the newsletter will be author updates, goals, writing snippets and commissions, behind the scenes previews, and other exciting updates. If you're interested in following and learning more about me and the writing process, please consider following!

Being an indie author is difficult. When distribition companies often take a large chunk of royalties from each sale and the onus on indie authors is to do the heavy lifting in promotion, those sales tend to struggle. Therefore, in order to sustain myself a little more and find more ways to increase my output in publishing, I will be opening a page for signed and personalized copies of books + swag packs. 

At the start of 2024, my website will have a page to buy signed copies (either personalized or not) of all my books. Additionally, I will have the option for readers to purchase swag packs for a few dollars extra. These packs will include: 

• Stickers
• Bookmarks
• Any art prints or page overlays from the pre-order sale
• Any merch such as t-shirts or mugs that may be created 

All books from before 2024 will be available for sale and every book published after will become available upon its respective release day. The prices will be a little cheaper than retailer value and the current market, but that is a price I'm comfortable with setting for my work.

Small update for inquiring minds: 

I have officially added myself to IngramSpark as an additional distribution center for my books, starting with the Laws of Love Duology. With that, my hope is to find indie bookstores, libraries, and other places to pick up my books.

With new opportunities on the horizon, I decided to go out and get some new branding done for myself and Lucky Ace Publishing. I wanted to speak to a new era of my books and my publishing journey.

I am so excited to announce that I have established a Book Funnel bundle pack promotion of all the Shadow and Soul books until July 2023. 

This bundle is free for anyone to claim and open to those interested in reading the series but never got the chance before now. Whether for cost reasons or time, I've made all the copies accessible and with no charge to accept.

Part of Lucky Ace Publishing's mission, per the goals of founder Cassandra Diviak, is to highlight indie authors in short but meaningful profiles every season (4 times a year) to create an uplifting community of support for authors in their debut stage.

Support is pivotal to the growth of indie author platforms. Without the support and social capital that traditional publishing houses have on the market and readers, indie authors often need to fend for themselves. Marketing changes with the algorithim, which constanly switches and leaves authors scrambling to follow trends. As indie authors wear so many hats, it can be taxing to focus on marketing and cultivating a platform. Thus, the Seasonal Spotlight was born. 

So, for Spring 2023's Indie Author, Lucky Ace Publishing is excited to welcome our selected author:

Lucky Ace Publishing started as a funny idea from a conversation about legitimacy in the author space. Indie authors already have a hard enough time getting people to take them seriously, and founder Cassandra Diviak started to wonder whether having an imprint behind her name might help boost her books' credibility. But she didn't take the decision lightly and brainstormed about how she might make a more reliable platform to help others reach their goals too. 

Thus, she has ambitions to make Lucky Ace a space that invites authors, readers, and other industry professionals where doors have otherwise been shut. Stories featured in the press and published by Lucky Ace will likely feature stories about asexuality, plus-sized characters, or mental health and disability representation--all of which are important to Lucky Ace's founder. She wants stories that walk within the margins of the marketplace and brings them into focus.
